and the cover that I've settled on...
I'd like to thank Laurie Pzena for all the work she did on these covers, and everyone for all your feedback. In the end all your feedback was extremely helpful in coming up with something that was less hardboiled/thriller-like and more lighthearted. Again, thanks everyone, all of your comments both here and elsewhere helped a lot.

Oh, that looks great! Good warm colors, too. It ought to show up beautifully in the e-listings.
Great compromise, Dave. I like it!
Lee + Jan, thanks. All the feedback we were getting pointed us to this. I kind of like how this has a Wizard of Oz (Wicked Witch of the East) type look.
Fabulous!!!!
Great luck with the project!

I think you hit it with this one, Dave. Very nice!
Terrie + Kaye, thanks. I'm happy at how all this worked out with the cover. The next step will be creating a "Julius Katz and Archie" blog, that I'll be co-moderating with Archie. Once the eBook is ready, I'll be making the blog live.
I like it!
Dave,
I definitely like this cover. It's not sexual. The legs splayed as they are kind of give a sense of a body, but also some klutziness so that there's a sense the mystery/story has a bit of lightness to it. The color is also eye-catching. Good choice and re-done! Good luck with the book.
Hmmm...my reaction to this cover is considerably different than other posters here and elsewhere.
But, that is just me. :)))
Naomi + Pat, thanks. This should be live on the Kindle store soon, and I'll see what happens.
Kevin, what can I say?
