The razor line between horror and crime

As one of the posters pointed out, Poe is a great example of this. Which other contemporary writers other than the ones I mentioned move effortlessly between the two genres?

The two guys I was thinking of, Ed Gorman and Joe Lansdale, you mentioned in the article.

I think it's relatively easy to move between the two worlds because they both deal in suspense. If your psycho killer can scare the crap out of the reader, your vampire zombie probably will, too.

you've also got Stephen King writing Misery, which I put in the crime genre and it's my favorite book of his. But vast majority of what he writes is horror.
